ATMD Evaluation System for Acam Time to Digital Converters

The ATMD Offers Modular Open Architecture

The ATMD (acam time measuring device) with it's components is a measurement evaluation system for the integrated circuit Time to Digital Converters offered by Acam-USA. It is designed as an evaluation kit to assist designers and to shorten development time for TDCs and for small laboratory field tests.

The modular system is shipped in an external metal case and connected and powered by means of a PCI interface board. It comes complete with all necessary software, hardware, cables, and manuals.

The ATMD Measurement System consists of:

  • ISA board or PCI board for coupling the system to the PC
  • Motherboard for the control of the system
  • Modules with TDCs or additional functions

The ATMD System provides a great opportunity to learn more about acam‘s TDCs in a very short time. Developers and users can see immediately the performance they can expect in their application without wasting time with software development and bread-boarding components. Due to it's modular structure, the system can be easily expanded in it's various functions. Additional modules such as level-conversion-modules, and histogram-memory-modules have been created as custom developments.

Each system is supplied together with a graphical user interface that allows simple setup of all the relevant registers of the TDCs. The measurement data can be displayed graphically as plot or histogram. A data export function is implemented for data postprocessing. For LabView applications, drivers are also available to install
the ATMD as a NI-VISA device.
