Our expertise is the measurement of picosecond time intervals by means of of TDCs (Time to Digital Converters). A Time-to-Digital converter is a measuring unit for time interval measurement with an accuracy in the picosecond range. The measuring principle is based on the delay of simple logical gates.
We offer TDC circuits for use in serial production dedicated to the whole spectrum of possible applications. The applications cover consumer products, industrial and automotive products up to research, aerospace- and space applications - all applications that need innovative solutions for their sensor electronics.
In terms of GHz processors we think in nanoseconds. Acam remains a step ahead and operates in the range of 100 GHz and more. Our product range sets standards for all fundamental parameters, such as precision, measuring rate, double pulse resolution, pulse width measurement , and current consumption.
Besides superior quality and performance we look for the potential for mass product production capability and how to offer a reduced production cost.
The TDC measuring unit is the foundation of our technology. Acam developed a spectrum of high-resolution, high-speed digital circuits, realized in different types of CMOS technology. Since they are digital equipped there is no longer a need for any analog elements. The circuits are flexible with resolution ranges from 10ps to 250 ps. The time interval light needs to travel from the surface of this monitor to the reader's eye can easily be measured with a TDC.
The use of standardized digital CMOS technologies is a big advantage for use in mass applications.
This simplifies the implementation of customer requirements in
application specific IC's up to System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions. The cooperation with established ASIC-vendors and silicon foundries gaurantees excellent quality and reliability for our customers.
