TDCs - Time to Digital Converters
The term time to digital converter is used when talking about time interval measurements in the range of 1 nanosecond down to the picosecond range. The first time to digital converters were developed for research and science as a combination of time-to-analog (TAC) and analog-to-digital (ADC). Complexity and limitations of that method did not offer viable industrial time measurement solutions for modern times.

Acam's integrated digital CMOS-technology offers a single chip complete time to digital circuit. This advanced chip design realizes high resolution time measurement - to pico second range. Acam time to digital converters offer a large dynamic range to 30 Bit and a high temperature stability. These time to digital converters are highly efficient, consuming ultra low current for the supply voltage. This design delivers a lower cost production and higher grade of accuracy than traditional time-to-analog TAC and analog-to-digital ADC methods.
